Prohibited products and services
What may never be offered or sold through the platform, and how we deal with a breach.
Last updated: September 20, 2026
This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Arabic text is the binding version; where the two differ, the Arabic governs.
This document restates the prohibition in Article (13) of Decree-Law No. (21) of 2025 on Electronic Commerce (قرار بقانون رقم (21) لسنة 2025م بشأن التجارة الإلكترونية). Breaching it exposes the offender, under Article (23/1/d), to imprisonment for up to three years, or a fine of (500) to (4,000) Jordanian dinars, or both.
The prohibited list
No business on the platform may promote, market or sell any of the following:
- Alcoholic drinks.
- Tobacco of every kind, shisha molasses and electronic cigarettes.
- Medicines, veterinary medicines and pharmaceutical preparations, dietary supplements, herbal preparations, pesticides and medical supplies, and any other substance having a therapeutic character.
- Products or services offending public morals or public order.
- Weapons, ammunition and fireworks.
- Products infringing intellectual or industrial property rights — including counterfeits and forged trademarks.
- Settlement products.
- Products breaching the mandatory technical instructions approved by the competent authorities, or of unknown origin.
- Any product or service whose sale, promotion or marketing is prohibited under the legislation in force.
Note paragraph (3) in particular
The prohibition covers dietary supplements and herbal preparations, which are frequently listed in online stores in good faith. It also covers medical supplies and any substance having a therapeutic character — and what counts is the therapeutic character claimed or actual, not how the product is classified commercially.
What the business undertakes
By joining the platform, every business confirms that it:
- Will not offer any item from the list above.
- Holds all the licences and approvals needed for what it offers.
- Offers products conforming to the mandatory technical instructions and the approved Palestinian standards, under Article (12/1).
- Displays the product's label and discloses its essential characteristics, under Article (12/2).
What we do about a breach
- Immediate removal of the offending product on discovery or on being told of it.
- A warning to the business, requiring it to put matters right.
- Suspension of the business from listing until it does.
- Termination of the contract and notification of the competent authorities where the breach is repeated or serious.
